PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darren Myles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dolph Duckk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Myles comes to the cage accompanied by Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop. Duckk has chosen Du Hast: Rammstein as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duckk doesn't manage to clinch there - Myles circles away.
Myles moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Duckk dodges the punch combination from Myles.

Duckk moves into range and clinches up with Myles.
Duckk throws a head punch that misses.
Duckk pressing his opponent against the cage.
Duckk lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Darren Myles has been cut.
Duckk misses with a body punch.
Duckk is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Myles goes for a takedown in the clinch but Duckk prevents it.
The referee is keeping an eye on Duckk - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Duckk manages to break the clinch.

Myles shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Duckk's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Myles seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Myles's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Duckk throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Myles escapes and throws Duckk's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Duckk is trying to escape the position but Myles is controlling the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duckk sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Duckk has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Myles is working away from the top position though.
Myles perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Myles shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Duckk manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Myles avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Myles got a little sloppy there for a moment and Duckk has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Myles has managed to get both his arms back between Duckk's legs - danger averted.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Myles lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's time! Myles's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Myles chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Duckk can pounce on him.
Myles tries to score a power double leg takedown but Duckk sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Myles somewhat.
Nice straight punches there by Myles. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Myles.
Myles avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Myles sends Duckk crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Myles is motioning to the referee to let Duckk up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Horrible takedown by Myles or perhaps it was just good defense by Duckk which made him look bad.
Duckk lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Myles shoots in for a double leg but Duckk sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Duckk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dolph Duckk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Duckk tries to clinch but Myles is having none of it.
Duckk tries to close the distance and clinch but Myles swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Myles feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Duckk crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

After the fight, Darren Myles was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
