Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dixie Normous (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Lynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dixie Normous!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carl Lynn!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynn throws out a powerful jab.
Lynn tries a head kick but it misses.
Normous avoids the head kick by Lynn.
Lynn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Normous fails with a takedown attempt.
Lynn finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Normous has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lynn finds it's way round the side to connect with Normous's head.
Carl Lynn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Normous shoots in for a takedown but Lynn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lynn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lynn connects with a nice looking jab.
Lynn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Normous circles away quickly and effectively.
Normous checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Lynn scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lynn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lynn misses with a head kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lynn, as that shot connected.
Horrible takedown by Normous or perhaps it was just good defense by Lynn which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dixie Normous. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lynn throws a body punch but Normous moves out of range.
Lynn lands with a straight right. Normous didn't see that one coming.

Lynn lands a left and a right that send Normous crashing to the mat, dazed. Lynn thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Normous is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lynn scores with a head kick. Normous tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Oh Normous is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lynn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Normous sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nice sprawl there from Lynn as Normous shoots in.
Normous seems to have got his legs back now.
Lynn misses the jab.

Normous closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lynn to the mat! Lynn manages to get full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Normous postures up.
Normous wants to control from the top but Lynn keeps moving.
Normous has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lynn lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Normous!
My spies in A1 (Low cap, 13 Elite coaches! & Blackbelt) inform me that Lynn has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Lynn misses with a head shot.
Lynn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Normous. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lynn throws a sloppy strike and Normous uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Normous has ended up in Lynn's guard.
Normous passes Lynn's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Lynn is staying active underneath Normous, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Normous wants to work for an arm triangle but Lynn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Normous is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Normous is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Normous is working for a submission of some sort.

Normous is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lynn doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Normous.

Lynn looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Normous winds up and cracks Lynn with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Lynn wants to improve his position but Normous is controlling well.
Normous lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Normous trying to control the pace.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Normous is trying to control the action in half guard but Lynn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Normous takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Normous is working for a kimura but Lynn is defending it quite comfortably.
Normous has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Normous looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lynn looking for submissions off his back.
Normous landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lynn wants to get back to full guard.

Lynn is defending against the submission attempts here by Normous.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lynn is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Normous pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carl Lynn dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Lynn counters with a straight right hand.

Normous drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Normous jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Normous stands and throws Lynn's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Normous trying to control the action but Lynn is working from the bottom.
Lynn tries to improve position but can't.
Lynn is trying to control Normous's posture but Normous avoids it.

Normous works to advance to full mount. Lynn defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Lynn is wriggling around trying to escape.
Normous controlling the position easily from mount.

Normous looking to secure an arm triangle but Lynn defends it well.

Lynn tries to hold on but Normous postures up.

A nice elbow there by Normous.

Normous is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Normous!

During a confident post fight interview, Dixie Normous thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
