Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hans Gruber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hans Gruber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Turner!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner thows a body shot but no joy.
Gruber moves into range and connects with a jab.
Gruber misses with a wild body shot.
Gruber throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Turner shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Turner was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gruber gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Turner is keen to just control but Gruber is a slippery customer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Gruber cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Gruber bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Turner's guard.

Turner felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Turner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gruber is just content to waste time from the top position. Turner takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hans Gruber will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

It looks like Steve Turner has been cut.
Turner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Turner doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gruber counters with a two punch combo.

Gruber uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Turner has time to react.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gruber, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Hans Gruber was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
