Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arto Byyri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Beam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Arto Byyri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jim Beam!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byyri loads up on a big right hand but Beam slips the punch.
Beam shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Byyri throws a jab but it's blocked by Beam.
Byyri uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Beam.
Byyri throws a looping overhand right but Beam ducks down to avoid it.

Beam dives in and scores a takedown into Byyri's guard.
Byyri on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Byyri tries to get out of the position.
Byyri utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Beam content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Beam working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Byyri's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Beam throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Beam postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Byyri tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Beam is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Beam keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Byyri's head.

Byyri knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beam on the ground.
Beam advances to half guard.
Beam has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Beam seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Beam lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Byyri wants to get back to his feet.
Beam thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Byyri blocking the ground and pound attempt from Beam.
Beam keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beam landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Beam is thwarting Byyri's attempts to control the position.
Beam looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Beam looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Byyri with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Beam throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Beam is trying to control the action in half guard but Byyri is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Beam lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Beam scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Beam scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Beam is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Byyri!
Byyri might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Beam content just to control the position here.

Byyri is rocked!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Beam softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Byyri is out cold! Beam jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Beam!
