PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evander Holyshit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Djoser Rei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holyshit comes to the cage accompanied by Lil Wayne- I feel like dying. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rei misses with a wild body shot.
Djoser Rei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Holyshit slips under a jab.
Rei checks a leg kick nicely.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Holyshit will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Holyshit punishes Rei's body with a nice straight punch.
Holyshit takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Rei throws a right and a left that both miss.

Holyshit has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rei tries to roll over but Holyshit keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rei takes a swing at Holyshit's ribcage but misses.
Holyshit displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rei throws out the jab.
Rei tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Holyshit swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rei.

It looks like Djoser Rei has been cut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Holyshit. Rei does a little dance to reset his feet.
Holyshit shoots in looking for a takedown but Rei manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Holyshit's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Rei ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Holyshit moves away.
Rei takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Rei throws a front kick that sends Holyshit stumbling back into the cage.

Rei buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Holyshit is looking to wear down Rei with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

A slapping leg kick lands for Holyshit.
Holyshit throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rei's waist but Rei gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Holyshit off to one side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Holyshit definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The fighters circle momentarily. Rei darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rei enables Holyshit to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rei manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Rei throws a low kick, looking for Holyshit's leg but Holyshit calmly moves out of range.

Rei tries to land a front kick but Holyshit steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Rei pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Holyshit digs a right hand underneath Rei's ribcage. Rei let out a lung full of air as it connected.

A close second round but Djoser Rei will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Holyshit lands a huge takedown. Rei is out but the ref is slow to react and Holyshit lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Rei lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
