Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Travis Lucas Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sterling Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Lucas Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sterling Archer!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Archer throws a right and a left that Lucas Jr avoids nicely.
Lucas Jr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Archer tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Archer tries to close the distance and clinch but Lucas Jr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Archer.
Archer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Archer looks to score with a jab to the body but Lucas Jr is just out of range.
Archer chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lucas Jr can pounce on him.
Lucas Jr misses with a head kick.

Archer gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lucas Jr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Archer lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lucas Jr backs up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Archer checks a leg kick.
Archer pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Lucas Jr ducks under a wild hook from Archer.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Archer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lucas Jr sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Lucas Jr scores with a leg kick.
Archer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lucas Jr dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Archer. That did some damage!

Lucas Jr gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lucas Jr pulls Archer in close to prevent any damage.
Lucas Jr wants to sweep here but Archer controlling him for the moment.

Archer decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lucas Jr, up you get!
Lucas Jr walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Archer checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lucas Jr throws a head kick but Archer moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Archer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Travis Lucas Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sterling Archer.
Lucas Jr throws a head kick that misses.
A punch combination from Archer misses.
We've been told by Lucas Jr's head coaches at Cus' Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Lucas Jr thumps Archer with a low kick.
Travis Lucas Jr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Archer tries to bum rush Lucas Jr with a series of wild strikes but Lucas Jr uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lucas Jr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Archer.
Lucas Jr pivots, looking for a leg kick but Archer is out of range and Lucas Jr settles back down.
Archer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lucas Jr tries to avoid it but Archer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lucas Jr to the ground. Lucas Jr escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Archer dives in and grabs Lucas Jr's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lucas Jr pushes down on Archer's head and hops out.
Good leg kick by Lucas Jr there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Archer looks winded!
Lucas Jr is looking to slow Archer down with leg kicks.
A chopping leg kick lands by Lucas Jr.
Archer misses with a takedown
and Lucas Jr makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lucas Jr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Archer fails with the takedown.
Lucas Jr buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lucas Jr throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Archer takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like Sterling Archer has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lucas Jr cracks the inside of Archer's front leg.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Lucas Jr! Archer is out on his feet! Lucas Jr rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Archer is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Archer is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Travis Lucas Jr!
After the fight, Travis Lucas Jr was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
