The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Some bone on bone action there as Hampton checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Knife tries to clinch up but Hampton circles away and keeps his distance.
Knife defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hampton.

Knife pushes Hampton up against the cage in a clinch.
Knife missing with knees to the body.
Hampton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Knife gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Hampton blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Knife tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Knife throws a knee to the head but misses.

We've been informed that Knife has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Hampton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Knife sprawls well. Knife wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hampton gets slowly back to his feet.
Boris Knife is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hampton swats away the attempt to clinch by Knife.
Hampton has his takedown stuffed
and Knife counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hampton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Knife counters with a right hand to the body.
Knife lands with a nice combination. Hampton backs away looking to recover.
Knife tries to clinch
and Hampton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Hampton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hampton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Knife as he avoids it easily.
Hampton keeps the fight on the outside.

Knife closes the distance and clinches.
Still in the clinch, Knife scores with a nice short uppercut.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Knife throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hampton blocks it with crossed arms.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boris Knife dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Knife instigates a clinch.
Knife tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hampton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Knife gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Knife misses with an elbow strike.
Knife stops a takedown attempt from Hampton.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corey Hampton. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Knife gets control of Hampton's arms and successfully pulls guard. Knife will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Knife can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Knife keeping full guard, as Hampton tries to pass.

Hampton drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Hampton as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Knife screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Hampton! Nice submission victory there!
