PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Clack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zero comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fozzy's "Shine Forever" kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Kenny Clack has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenny Clack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ray Zero!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero tries to bum rush Clack with a series of wild strikes but Clack uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Zero shoots and misses

and Clack counters by clinching up.
Clack changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Zero fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Zero walks forward, straight into a front kick from Clack.
A solid leg kick lands there for Clack.
Clack stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


It looks like Ray Zero has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Clack forces Zero back against the cage and clinches.
Clack is trying to drag Zero to the mat but Zero just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Clack gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Clack is keen to just control but Zero is a slippery customer.
Zero felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Zero gets back to full guard.
Clack postures up in Zero's guard and throws a big left but Zero blocks it.

Zero had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Clack defends it easily.

Zero has his foot on Clack's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Clack works his way back into a safe position though.

Clack stands up over Zero, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Clack slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Zero controls Clack momentarily but Clack frees himself.
Clack postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Clack is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Clack shoots in looking for a takedown but Zero manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Clack's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Clack looks to score with a jab to the body but Zero is just out of range.

Zero shoots in for a double leg but Clack sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Clack throws a series of punches but Zero avoids them all with ease.

Zero changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Clack looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Zero tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Zero has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Zero is looking to take a break and control but Clack is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Clack is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Zero off and has taken his back!
Zero wants to control his opponent's hands but Clack gets his hands free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Clack has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Zero.

Clack lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Clack.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Clack is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Zero. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kenny Clack overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Clack throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Zero!
Zero is still in real trouble! Can Clack finish him?
Clack lands a series of strikes from the back and Zero goes limp! The ref jumps in to save him!
