PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ultimate Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by KRS One - Step Into a World. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ultimate Warrior!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Jackson throws a combination. Warrior tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
A jab lands there for Warrior.
Warrior showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jackson.
Warrior shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Warrior's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Warrior has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Warrior there as he acknowledges the shot.
Jackson slips a jab and a cross from Warrior.
Warrior misses with an uppercut. Jackson saw that one coming.
Warrior throws a jab when Jackson was well out of range.
Jackson throws a shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Jackson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Warrior lands a really nice looking cross but Jackson seems unphased.
Warrior throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Warrior has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Team 907 Assassins in the buildup to the fight.

and Jackson counters with a left to the body.
A slow jab from Warrior misses its intended target.
Some wild striking there from Warrior.
Warrior fails with the takedown
and Jackson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Warrior takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Warrior lands an overhand right.
Warrior feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jacksons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Jackson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Warrior.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Warrior lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Warrior tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jackson throws a nice looking combination but Warrior bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Jackson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Warrior doesn't seem bothered though.
Warrior throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jackson takes one to the side of the head.
Warrior dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ultimate Warrior seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Warrior throws a right hand that misses
and Jackson counters with a straight right hand.
Warrior scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Warrior jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jackson scores with the left hand. Warrior knows he should have avoided that one.
Jackson moves out of range as Warrior strikes.
Jackson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Warrior throws a lazy right hand but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jackson lands a jab to the head.

enabling Jackson to counter with a crisp jab.

Jackson drops his hands momentarily and Warrior takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Warrior swings for the body but Jackson moves out of range.
Jackson connects with a looping right hand.
Jackson jabs at Warrior's body.
Jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Warrior looks to land a combination but Jackson avoids it well.
Warrior dodges the punch combination from Jackson.
Warrior jabs Jackson to the body, keeping him at a distance.

John Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Warrior throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jackson.
Jackson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Warrior.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ultimate Warrior will probably get the nod.

Jackson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Warrior looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Warrior is rocked!
Warrior throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Warrior misses with a hook. Jackson ducked under it nicely.
Jackson defending well as Warrior loads up on a big left hand.
Warrior misses with an uppercut
letting Jackson counter with a right hand.
Oh Warrior is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Warrior seems to have got his legs back now.

Warrior bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jackson's head.
Jackson throws a series of strikes that have Warrior backpedaling.
Warrior looks to land a right hand but Jackson moved out of range.
No joy there for Warrior, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ultimate Warrior is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Warrior looks to land a combination but Jackson avoids it well.
Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Warrior.

Jackson has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Warrior with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Jackson to score with a decent uppercut.

Warrior lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Warrior looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Warrior seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Jackson shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Warrior is backing up but Jackson catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Warrior covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Jackson Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Jackson!

John Jackson decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
