The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soares shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Soares has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Soares controlling the position easily from mount.
Soares dominating with strikes here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Soares controlling from mount.

Soares working for a guillotine from mount but Fund is in no mood to give up.
Fund keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Soares fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Soares sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Soares is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Fund can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Soares tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Fund takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Soares takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Soares working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Fund turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Soares off and cradles Fund's limp body as Soares celebrates with his corner.
