And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greger misses with an attempted mid kick.
Greger throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

and Bates counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bates really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bates closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Greger's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bates throws a big elbow that misses.
Bates wants to stand but Greger is controlling his posture from full guard.

Bates trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Greger utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Greger looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bates has picked Greger up and slammed him! Greger can't keep hold of the triangle and Bates manages to pass to side control!
Greger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bates wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Bates thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Greger regains half guard.
Greger avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bates.
Greger is looking to improve his position.

Bates is looking for a kimura but Greger is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bates to get the leverage.
