The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zivotinja fails in his attempt to clinch.
Validas gets caught napping as Zivotinja dives in and scores a takedown. Validas manages to retain guard.
Zivotinja stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Some wild striking there from Validas.
Zivotinja takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Validas lunges at Zivotinja with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Zivotinja's hand.
Zivotinja thumps Validas with a low kick.
Validas takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Zivotinja walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Zivotinja.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zivotinja has hold of Validas's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Validas tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Zivotinja cranks the arm and Validas screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Validas, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Stele Zivotinja!
