Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mana Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Hugo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor Hugo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Victor Hugo!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hugo's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Hugo duly obliges.
It looks like Mana Sato has been cut.
Sato tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hugo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sato somewhat.
Hugo works over Sato's head and body with a nice combination.
Sato definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hugo catches Sato napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Sato to the canvas!

Sato is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hugo is aware though and is defending well.

A head kick lands from Hugo that sends Sato to the canvas. Sato tries to scramble back to his feet but Hugo brings him back down into side control.
Sato has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hugo seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Sato manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Hugo wanted to stand there but Sato had control of the position.

Sato working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hugo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hugo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Sato's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Hugo connects with a high kick.
Sato closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hugo quickly recovers to half guard.

Hugo felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Sato perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Sato wants to control but Hugo is keeping him busy.
We're going to have a standup here because Mana Sato wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sato drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Hugo is letting Sato control him for a moment.
Sato cracks Hugo with a big right hand but Hugo just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Hugo parries the strikes from Sato easily there. Sato is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hugo to escape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sato throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sato takes one to the side of the head.
Hugo lands a brutal head kick. Sato looks out on his feet and Hugo throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
