Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chavo Chavelito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Mathison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathison has chosen The Sickness as his entrance music. David Mathison has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chavo Chavelito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Mathison!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavelito is looking to clinch.
Chavelito shoots in looking for a takedown. Mathison tries to sprawl out of it but Chavelito keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mathison manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Chavelito tries a head kick but it misses.
Mathison closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Chavelito's face as Mathison controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mathison is looking for a kimura but Chavelito is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mathison to get the leverage.
Chavelito is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mathison scores with a couple of nice shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mathison wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chavelito keeps working.
Chavelito is looking to control Mathison's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chavelito avoid being mounted?
Mathison decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Horrible takedown by Chavelito or perhaps it was just good defense by Mathison which made him look bad.
Mathison dives in and grabs Chavelito's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chavelito pushes down on Mathison's head and hops out.

Mathison throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chavelito's waist but Chavelito gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mathison off to one side.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Chavelito changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mathison tries to avoid it but Chavelito manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mathison to the ground. Mathison escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A combination from Mathison does no damage.
Mathison is looking to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Mathison dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mathison swats away the attempt to clinch by Chavelito.
Mathison leaves Chavelito with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

David Mathison is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Mathison bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

David Mathison comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Mathison winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

David Mathison spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
