I think Lukashenko might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Belarus National Anthem. Alexander Lukashenko has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alexander Lukashenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randal Plimpton!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plimpton avoids the head kick by Lukashenko.
Lukashenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lukashenko goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Randal Plimpton has been cut.
Alexander Lukashenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lukashenko scores with a jab.
Sloppy strikes from Lukashenko. Those never looked like landing.

Plimpton rushes Lukashenko and presses him up against the cage.
Lukashenko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Plimpton misses with an elbow strike.
Lukashenko wants to break free but Plimpton has control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lukashenko makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Plimpton throws an elbow that misses.
Lukashenko is trying to force a seperation but Plimpton has the dominant position.
Plimpton has Lukashenko pressed against the cage, preventing Lukashenko from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Plimpton creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Lukashenko manages to break the clinch.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Lukashenko - that will leave a mark!
Plimpton moves in looking to clinch but Lukashenko pushes him off.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Plimpton has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Plimpton wants to clinch.
Lukashenko circles away from the clinch attempt

and Lukashenko counters with a crisp one two that drops Plimpton! Lukashenko thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Plimpton to his feet! Plimpton is in big trouble!


Plimpton is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lukashenko finds Plimpton's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Plimpton flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Lukashenko lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Plimpton will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alexander Lukashenko!
Our winner, Alexander Lukashenko, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
