The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Haka looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Howard looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Haka thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Howard's head.
Haka thows a huge punch but Howard dodges it nicely.

Howard is defending against the submission attempts here by Haka.
Haka trying to pass the guard but Howard defending well.
Haka throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Howard tries to roll over but Haka keeps him under control.
Haka is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Haka lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Howard hang on?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Haka lands with some strikes.

You get the feeling that Howard really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Haka lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Haka lands a big elbow.

Howard is rocked!
Haka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Haka working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Howard turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Haka off and cradles Howard's limp body as Haka celebrates with his corner.

A relieved looking Yoda Haka thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
