PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sellus Gravius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yrjo Jarvinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gravius might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Morrowind. Jarvinen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ini Kamoze- Here comes the hotstepper. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yrjo Jarvinen!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gravius works Jarvinen's body with a nice hook.
Gravius throws a sloppy head kick and Jarvinen moves out of range easily.
Jarvinen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

enabling Jarvinen to counter with a crisp jab.
Gravius blocks a jab.
Jarvinen swings away with a body shot that misses

and Gravius counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gravius.
Gravius misses with a punch to the body.

Jarvinen lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jarvinen lands a really nice looking cross but Gravius seems unphased.
Jarvinen throws a hook to the side of Gravius's head but Gravius sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jarvinen connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Sellus Gravius is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gravius doesn't manage to clinch there - Jarvinen circles away.
Jarvinen gets cracked there but stands up to it.

A looping hook to the body misses from Jarvinen. Gravius does a little dance to reset his feet.

Gravius forces Jarvinen back against the cage and clinches.
Gravius lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Jarvinen has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gravius after a bit of a struggle.
Still in the clinch, Gravius scores with a nice short uppercut.

Jarvinen turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Jarvinen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
You can see the frustration on Gravius's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gravius manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jarvinen's best efforts.

Gravius has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Gravius misses with a head shot. Jarvinen uses the momentum to regain guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sellus Gravius.

Jarvinen shoots in looking for a takedown. Gravius tries to sprawl out of it but Jarvinen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gravius manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jarvinen throws a low kick but Gravius avoids it.
Gravius takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

It looks like Yrjo Jarvinen has been cut.
Nice shot lands for Jarvinen.
Gravius takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Gravius tries to work over Jarvinen's front leg with a kick but Jarvinen checks it.

Both fighters circling a little - Gravius finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Yrjo Jarvinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gravius lands a big head kick that sends Jarvinen to the canvas! Gravius follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
