Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between M J Shain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rumina Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shain might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Thunderstruck. Sato has chosen Call to prayer of islam as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shain slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Sato has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Shain on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Sato lands with a straight right. Shain didn't see that one coming.
Sato throws an overhand right that lands on Shain's shoulder, as Shain tries to avoid the shot.
Sato uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shain.

Shain tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sato paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sato's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shain connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sato scrambles back to his feet.

Shain looks to score with a jab to the body but Sato is just out of range.

Shain tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sato manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Sato drops his hands momentarily and Shain takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Shain tries to work over Sato's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Shain blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Shain lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Shain lands with a right to the head.
Shain doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Sato escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shain takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Shain misses with a straight left.
Shain throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Shain throws a big shot that misses.
Shain connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Shain lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sato has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sato and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Sato takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Shain misses with a hook to the body

and Sato counters with a slapping leg kick.
Shain looks to land a right hand but Sato moved out of range.
Sato lands a jab to the nose.
Sato misses the shot to the body.
Shain swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sato cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Shain tries to clinch there but Sato circles away.
Shain misses with a hook. Sato ducked under it nicely.
Sato has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Sato tries to score with a low kick but Shain moves his leg out of the way.

Sato moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A head kick misses from Shain.
A bone on bone clash there as Shain blocks the leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shain takes a swing at Sato's ribcage but misses.

Shain shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sato pinned against the cage. Sato gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for M J Shain. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shain tries to move into range but Sato moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Shain fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sato sprawls well initially but Shain persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Shain is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Sato is trying to stand up here but Shain is controlling him well.

Shain takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Sato desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Shain is working for a submission of some sort.

Shain has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Sato defend it? Shain steps over the head and cranks it - Sato is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Shain!

A relieved looking M J Shain thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
