Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Strummer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodney Ishen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Strummer looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodney Ishen!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ishen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A jab from Strummer misses.
Ishen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Ishen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Strummer.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ishen.
Strummer is looking to clinch.

Ishen clinches up against the cage.
Nice body punch from Strummer.
Ishen takes a shot to the head.
Ishen tries to pull guard but Strummer holds him up against the cage and eventually Ishen drops back down to his feet.

Strummer tries to break the clinch but Ishen is controlling the position.

Strummer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ishen is looking to score with low kicks.
Strummer throws and low kick but Ishen moves out of range easily.
Ishen feints and then cracks Strummer's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Strummer down.
Strummer scores with a jab to the jaw.

Ishen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Strummer is fending him off so far but Ishen persists. Nope, Strummer circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ishen wants to control but Strummer is keeping him busy.

Ishen has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Strummer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Strummer tries to get out of the position.

Ishen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Strummer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rodney Ishen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
