The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Figuera dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Almeida. That did some damage!
Figuera tries a head kick but it misses.
Figuera throws a head kick but Almeida moves out of range.
Almeida takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
A head kick by Figuera misses

so Almeida counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Figuera wants to stand and escape but Almeida is having none of it.
Figuera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Almeida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Almeida maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Figuera could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Almeida has cracked it and Figuera is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Almeida!
