The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haze fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mondragon throws a right and a left that Haze avoids nicely.
Mondragon misses with a head kick.
Mondragon tries a low kick but Haze avoids it.
Haze is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Haze scores with a nice right hand.
Mondragon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Haze did well to prevent Mondragon getting side control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Mondragon shoots in looking for a takedown but Haze manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mondragon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Haze looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Haze goes for a double leg but Mondragon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mondragon continues to drive forward.
Mondragon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mondragon stuffs the takedown attempt from Haze. Haze gets slowly back to his feet.
Mondragon slaps away a takedown attempt from Haze, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Haze shoots for a double leg takedown but Mondragon sprawls well. He's pushed Haze's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mondragon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Mondragon throws a leg kick but Haze moved away.
Mondragon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Haze's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mondragon looking to sit in guard and control but Haze gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Mondragon controls Haze momentarily but Haze frees himself.
Haze slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Purple Haze has got the better of the ground game so far.
Haze wants to control from the top but Mondragon keeps moving.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Purple Haze hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Mondragon will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Haze shoots in for a takedown but Mondragon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Haze.

Haze tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mondragon swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Haze has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Mondragon doesn't defend quickly enough and Haze has managed to lock this one up! Can Mondragon escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Haze on a fantastic submission victory.
