Clasie has chosen Sensation White Anthem as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stig Helmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcel Clasie!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clasie fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Clasie cracks Helmer with a good jab.


It looks like Stig Helmer has been cut.
Helmer wants to clinch
and Clasie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Clasie gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
I was talking to Helmer's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Clasie lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Helmer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Clasie just stands there and leans against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Helmer pulls Clasie into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Helmer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Helmer wants to improve his position but instead Clasie has moved into half guard.

Helmer is looking for a sweep. Clasie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Helmer is pressing down on Clasie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Clasie wants to stand but Helmer has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Helmer wants to sweep here but Clasie controlling him for the moment.

Helmer is working hard here to advance position.

Clasie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Helmer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Clasie has managed to get both his arms back between Helmer's legs - danger averted.

Helmer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Clasie is aware though and is defending well.
Clasie told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Clasie gets to his feet. Helmer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Helmer tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Clasie lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Clasie lands with a left to the head.

Clasie misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Helmer is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Clasie pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Helmer jumps guard.
Clasie wants to stand but Helmer is controlling his posture from full guard.
Helmer has Clasie pulled in close to control his posture.

Helmer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Helmer throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Clasie escapes and throws Helmer's legs to the side, diving into side control!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Helmer is looking to regain half guard here but Clasie keeps moving and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcel Clasie dominated that round.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Clasie doesn't manage to clinch there - Helmer circles away.

Clasie closes the distance and clinches.
Clasie misses with a hook to the ribs.
Clasie misses with a short punch on the inside.
Clasie misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Helmer.
Helmer drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Helmer has Clasie pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Clasie manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Helmer blocks an elbow strike.
Clasie gets through Helmer's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Clasie makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Helmer jumps guard but Clasie turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stig Helmer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Helmer is trying to drag Clasie to the mat but Clasie just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Clasie has Helmer pushed against the cage.

Clasie throws an elbow but it misses.
Clasie misses with an elbow over the top.
Helmer can't get the takedown.
Clasie lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Helmer is looking to take this one to the mat.
Clasie lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Helmer wants a takedown.
Clasie trying to stall but Helmer improves his position.
Clasie slowing the pace effectively.
Clasie lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Helmer backwards.

Helmer manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Helmer has control of Clasie's left arm, preventing Clasie from doing any damage.
Clasie wanted to stand there but Helmer had control of the position.

Clasie has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Helmer to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Clasie is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Helmer pulls down on the head and he's put Clasie to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Stig Helmer!
Our winner, Stig Helmer, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
