PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Palenzuela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samir Oheat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palenzuela comes into the arena with PRIDE FC Theme blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ernesto Palenzuela!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Samir Oheat!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Palenzuela.
Palenzuela loads up on a big right hand but Oheat slips the punch.
Palenzuela tries a low kick but Oheat avoids it.
Horrible takedown by Oheat or perhaps it was just good defense by Palenzuela which made him look bad.
Palenzuela swinging wildly here.
Oheat attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Palenzuela tries for a takedown but Oheat sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Palenzuela tries to close the distance and clinch up but Oheat swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Palenzuela drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Palenzuela wants to control the position but Oheat says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Palenzuela is trying to stand back up but Oheat is controlling him
Oheat is trying to control the action in half guard but Palenzuela is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Palenzuela slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Palenzuela doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Oheat stops Palenzuela from standing up.
Oheat throws a big elbow that misses.
Oheat is working Palenzuela over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Oheat trying to control the position from guard on top but Palenzuela is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Oheat is looking to work some ground and pound but Palenzuela has wrist control.
Oheat with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Palenzuela has momentary wrist control but Oheat slips an elbow through the middle.

Oheat is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Palenzuela lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Oheat!

Oheat is looking to control Palenzuela's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Oheat avoid being mounted?
Palenzuela is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Oheat manages to get to full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Palenzuela tries to clinch but Oheat is having none of it.

Oheat is trying to pull guard but Palenzuela turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Oheat wants to work for an arm triangle but Palenzuela is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Palenzuela might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Oheat seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Palenzuela does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

and Oheat counters with a thumping low kick.
Oheat is looking to slow Palenzuela down with leg kicks.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Palenzuela is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Oheat presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samir Oheat showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Palenzuela's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!



Oheat rushes Palenzuela and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Palenzuela is trying to force a seperation but Oheat has the dominant position.

Oheat has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Palenzuela clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Palenzuela covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Oheat is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Palenzuela up.

Oheat lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Oheat is looking to finish with some ground and pound!

Oheat is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Palenzuela with him. Palenzuela is trying to defend but Oheat has an arm under the chin now! Palenzuela grimaces and is forced to tap out!
