And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark McGillivary!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mills tries to close the distance and clinch up but McGillivary swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Mills instigates a clinch.

Mills jumps into guard, dragging McGillivary to the mat.
Mills is pulling down on McGillivary's head to control his posture.
McGillivary tries to free his leg and advance position but Mills is retaining full guard.
McGillivary stopping the sweep attempt from Mills.

Mills is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Steve Mills wasn't doing enough on the ground.
McGillivary changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mills tries to avoid it but McGillivary manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mills to the ground. Mills escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mills shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mills showed some decent athleticism there.

Mills is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mills is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

McGillivary wants to control but Mills is keeping busy.
McGillivary pushes Mills off but Mills dives into side control.

Mills wants to slow McGillivary down by chopping away at his legs.
Mills keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mills stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mills wants it to stay on the feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mills distracts McGillivary with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

McGillivary changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mills looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

McGillivary is just content to waste time from the top position. Mills takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Mills on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mills tries to get out of the position.

McGillivary has gone for a leg lock! Mills slips out almost immediately though and dives into McGillivary's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now McGillivary is on top in guard.
Mills wants to stand up but McGillivary is controlling him.
