Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yury Vesnev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darth Paduwan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paduwan has chosen Bitch as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yury Vesnev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darth Paduwan !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paduwan looks to throw the jab but Vesnev is out of range.
A big right from Vesnev misses.
Paduwan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Paduwan uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Vesnev has time to react.
Vesnev looks to land a combination. Paduwan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Darth Paduwan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Paduwan tries to clinch but Vesnev moves out of range.
Paduwan misses with a hook. Vesnev ducked under it nicely.
Paduwan throws an off balance right hand

and Vesnev counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Paduwan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vesnev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Vesnev tries to free his leg and advance position but Paduwan is retaining full guard.

The fighters circling - Paduwan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Paduwan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vesnev.

Vesnev clobbers Paduwan with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Vesnev tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Paduwan was well out of range. Poor timing from Vesnev.

Paduwan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vesnev throws out the jab.
Vesnev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Paduwan as he avoids it easily.
Paduwan tries to clinch but Vesnev is having none of it.

Vesnev is pushing down on Paduwan 's leg trying to pass to half guard. Paduwan is fighting to maintain full guard but Vesnev has managed to sneak the leg through.

Vesnev wants to free his trapped foot but Paduwan is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Vesnev is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Paduwan takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Vesnev lands a nice shot that snaps Paduwan 's head back.
Paduwan fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Vesnev checks it well.
Vesnev throws a body punch but Paduwan moves out of range.
Paduwan throws out a loose jab but Vesnev uses good head movement to avoid it.
Paduwan throws a big shot that misses.

Vesnev throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Paduwan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vesnev is in Paduwan 's guard.
Vesnev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Paduwan tries to roll over but Vesnev keeps him under control.
Vesnev is trying to control. Paduwan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Paduwan has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Yury Vesnev is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Vesnev has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Yury Vesnev just wasn't active enough.
A telegraphed right hand from Vesnev misses the target.
Vesnev comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Paduwan scores with a jab. Vesnev acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Paduwan looks to land a left hand but Vesnev moved out of range nicely.
Paduwan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vesnev sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Paduwan slips a straight right by Vesnev.
Paduwan wants to clinch but Vesnev slips to the side

and Vesnev counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Paduwan !
Paduwan is looking for a sweep.
Paduwan is being controlled here.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vesnev's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We're going to have a standup here because Yury Vesnev wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vesnev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
