PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tycho Brahe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stefan Schellmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Stefan Schellmann was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brahe throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Brahe.
A nice inside leg kick there by Brahe. That's going to slow Schellmann down.
Schellmann avoids the body shot from Brahe.
Schellmann stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Brahe.
Brahe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Schellmann manages to avoid it.
Brahe slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Brahe is looking to slow Schellmann down with leg kicks.

Schellmann's coach down at Brick Brawlers MMA (13 Coaches) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Schellmann's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Schellmann's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Schellmann takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Brahe scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Brahe is looking to slow Schellmann down with leg kicks.
Brahe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Schellmann shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brahe as he avoids it easily.
Brahe throws a combination. Schellmann tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Brahe's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Brahe duly obliges.
Brahe jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Schellmann shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brahe sprawls well. Brahe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Schellmann gets slowly back to his feet.

Brahe feints a jab promting Schellmann to slip. Brahe then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Schellmann slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Brahe is looking to wear down Schellmann with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Schellmann shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brahe but Brahe pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tycho Brahe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stefan Schellmann.

Schellmann is looking to clinch but Brahe is avoiding it.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Brahe tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Schellmann wants to control from the top but Brahe keeps moving.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Schellmann in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Brahe tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Schellmann!

Stefan Schellmann tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
