Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Spank Azz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jon Elliott!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azz fails with the takedown

and Elliott counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Azz's guard now.
Elliott prevents Azz from getting back to his feet.
My spies in Soul Supremacy Elite Gym Montreal inform me that Elliott has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Elliott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Azz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Elliott prevents Azz from getting back to his feet.

Elliott drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Elliott jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Elliott has hold of Azz's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Azz manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Elliott decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Azz is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Elliott has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Elliott misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Azz tries to escape but Elliott is in control.

Elliott thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Azz is not content to let Elliott control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jon Elliott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
