Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mich Van Hyllen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Janne Stryparn!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stryparn shoots in for a takedown but Van Hyllen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stryparn is defended easily by Van Hyllen.
Stryparn has a takedown stuffed.
Mich Van Hyllen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Janne Stryparn.

Stryparn looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Van Hyllen!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The strikes coming from Stryparn are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Stryparn looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Van Hyllen dodges the ground and pound from Stryparn.
Van Hyllen tries to improve position but can't.

Stryparn tries to score with some ground and pound. Van Hyllen controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Stryparn thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Van Hyllen is not content to let Stryparn control the position.
Stryparn looking to control but instead Van Hyllen has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Stryparn working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Stryparn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Van Hyllen keeps working.
Stryparn not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Stryparn is looking to advance position but Van Hyllen won't allow it.
Still in half guard, Stryparn seems content to control.

Stryparn wants to work for an arm triangle but Van Hyllen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Stryparn takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Stryparn not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Stryparn trying to control the action but Van Hyllen is working from the bottom.
Stryparn might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Van Hyllen haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Stryparn seems to be working for a kimura but Van Hyllen defends the submission attempt.
Van Hyllen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stryparn on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stryparn is looking for a kimura here.

Van Hyllen is refusing to be controlled, as Stryparn sits in half guard.
Stryparn frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Van Hyllen wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Stryparn.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A nice elbow there by Stryparn.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Stryparn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Stryparn is keen to just control but Van Hyllen is a slippery customer.
