PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel McFadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pavel Nastul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pavel Nastul told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Pavel Nastul!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFadden misses with a takedown attempt - Nastul sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McFadden fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Nastul scores with a takedown into McFadden's guard.
Nastul throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
McFadden wants to stand and escape but Nastul is having none of it.
Nastul loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Nastul stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McFadden swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McFadden will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nastul trying to control but McFadden is working from the bottom.

Nastul thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nastul throws a big elbow that misses.

McFadden is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nastul is aware though and is defending well.
Nastul stops McFadden from standing up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nastul engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
McFadden is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nastul is controlling him.

Nastul lands a couple of decent looking shots.
McFadden is looking to stand up but Nastul isn't so interested in that idea.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nastul accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Nastul slips nicely into half guard.

Nastul is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! McFadden is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
