Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hagen Merak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Faersk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Atkins and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Merak misses.

Faersk closes the distance and clinches.
Merak blocks the elbow strike.

Faersk gets control of Merak's arms and successfully pulls guard. Faersk will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Faersk keeping moving, preventing Merak from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Faersk pulls Merak in to control the position.
Merak knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Faersk on the ground.
Merak won't allow Faersk to sweep him here.
Faersk throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Merak trying to control the position from guard on top but Faersk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Faersk is looking to cinch up a triangle. Merak throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Faersk's body to avoid the submission. Faersk has instead reached around Merak's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Faersk arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

In his post fight interview, Jon Faersk started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
