Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akbar Muhamed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Rapide (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Muhamed's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Led Zepplin:KASHMIR. Akbar Muhamed looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rapide dives in for a single leg takedown but Muhamed sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Muhamed gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Rapide.
Rapide is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Muhamed is defending well for now.
Muhamed jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rapide walks away with a smile on his face. Muhamed gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

I was talking to Muhamed's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Rapide is pressed up against the cage. Muhamed has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rapide down to the mat. Rapide avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Akbar Muhamed.
