The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Lemana has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cruz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lemana seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Cruz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cruz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Joe Lemana wasn't active enough on the ground.

Lemana jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Cruz manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Lemana tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lemana has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Cruz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Lemana in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Cruz is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
