Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hyman Peck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Azenders Alex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Azenders Alex!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alex tries to close the distance and clinch but Peck swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Alex slaps away a takedown attempt from Peck, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Alex misses with a takedown attempt - Peck sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Alex clinches up against the cage.
Peck really is a fat lump.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Alex has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Peck is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Alex prevents the takedown attempt.
Peck stalling in the clinch.
Come on Alex - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Alex jumps into guard, dragging Peck to the mat.

Alex has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peck can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alex can do anything to dispel that myth.
Alex holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Peck tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Alex is wriggling around trying to escape.
Alex is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Azenders Alex will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Peck doesn't manage to clinch there - Alex circles away.

Peck gets tackled into the cage by Alex. Alex maintains the clinch.
Peck tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Alex smiles and moves away.
Alex goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A head kick misses from Peck.
Alex chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Peck can pounce on him.
Peck shoots for a takedown but Alex saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Alex ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Peck moves away.
Peck fails with the takedown

and Alex counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hyman Peck. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Peck is looking to sweep but instead, Alex has passed into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Alex is looking for a kimura here.
Alex tries to pass to full mount but Peck defends it.
Alex moves nicely into side control.
Alex trying to control the action but Peck is working from the bottom.
Alex looks up at the clock and then as Peck takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Alex smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Peck is looking for a sweep.
Alex cracks Peck with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Alex is putting a hurting on Peck here, landing some big shots from side control.
Peck gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

It looks like Hyman Peck has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alex takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Peck wants to hold on but Alex pushes him away.

Alex is working for a guillotine from mount but Peck frees his head quite easily.
Alex looking to control and managing it successfully.
Alex is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Peck is trying to stand up.
Alex sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Alex with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Peck wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Alex is persistently looking for the submission but Peck is defending it well.

Azenders Alex showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Alex takes the fight into the clinch.
Alex is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Peck is defending well for now.

Alex tries to clinch there but Peck circles away.

Alex stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alex wants it to stay on the feet.
Alex tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Peck paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Alex shoots in for a double leg but Peck sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Hyman Peck is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Peck tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Alex defends well and Peck ends up having to push Alex into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Peck won't allow Alex to sweep him here.

Alex looking to hit a scissor sweep but Peck is one step ahead there.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Alex. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Alex takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Peck trying to control the position from guard on top but Alex is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Peck has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Alex looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Peck puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Alex tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Peck has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Alex really wants to buck Peck off and get back to his feet.
Alex is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Alex is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Peck avoids the attempt from Alex to control.

Peck thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Poor strikes thrown by Peck there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Peck wants to control the pace but Alex is squirming around nicely.

Peck wants to finish this one by submission but Alex is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Peck.
Peck throws some wild stikes that Alex manages to avoid easily.
Hyman Peck has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Azenders Alex is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Alex sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Azenders Alex comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Alex has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
