Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piotr Witczak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Stark could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Piotr Witczak's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Stark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Piotr Witczak!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stark shoots in looking for a takedown but Witczak manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Stark's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Witczak leaves Stark with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Witczak tries to sprawl but Stark drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Witczak on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Well, if Stark is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because James Stark just wasn't active enough.

Stark stands up over Witczak, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Stark could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Witczak wants to get back to his feet but Stark is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Stark lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Stark keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Witczak's head.

Stark is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Witczak wants to get back to his feet but Stark is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Stark not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Witczak wants to stand but Stark is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Stark's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Stark closes this distance looking for a takedown but Witczak circles away.
Witczak avoids the head kick by Stark.
Stark throws a leg kick but Witczak checks it.
Stark changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Witczak tries to avoid it but Stark manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Witczak to the ground. Witczak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stark decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stark connects with a nice short shot to Witczak's temple.

Stark seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Witczak is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Stark scores with a couple of nice shots.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Stark is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Witczak doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stark.

Stark is taking a breather. Witczak says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Stark lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Stark is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stark slips a nice elbow through Witczak's hands, connecting with Witczak's forehead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Witczak tries to kick Stark off but Stark keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Witczak stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Witczak wants it to stay on the feet.
Stark shoots in looking for a takedown. Witczak tries to sprawl out of it but Stark keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Witczak manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Stark. That's going to take a lot out of him.

It looks like James Stark has been cut.
Witczak gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


James Stark's cut is getting worse.
Witczak creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Stark's defenses.


Jeez, James Stark's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at James Stark's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
