The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laguna misses with an uppercut. Masatupo saw that one coming.
Laguna misses with a looping right.
Masatupo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Laguna takes a swing at Masatupo's ribcage but misses.
Laguna throws a shot from downtown. Masatupo moves away and avoids it.
A big left from Laguna misses.
Masatupo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Laguna throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Masatupo sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Laguna lands with a hook. Masatupo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
The fighters circle momentarily. Laguna darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Masatupo misses with a head kick.
Laguna has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Masatupo throws a solid leg kick but Laguna takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Masatupo.

Masatupo lands with a slapping head kick.

Laguna throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Masatupo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Masatupo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Masatupo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Laguna's guard.

Laguna is not content to let Masatupo control the position.
Laguna really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Masatupo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Masatupo misses with a head shot. Laguna uses the momentum to regain guard.
Masatupo is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Blitzkrieg Fighting Systems: Ground that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Masatupo slips nicely into half guard.

Masatupo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Laguna tries to get to full guard but Masatupo has control of the leg.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Laguna can do anything to dispel that myth.
Laguna is concentrating on defense, preventing Masatupo from advancing position.
Masatupo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Masatupo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Laguna is trying to maintain the position but Masatupo is very close to passing his half guard.

Masatupo tries to pass to full mount but Laguna defends it.
Masatupo is trying to control. Laguna wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Masatupo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Masatupo is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Laguna reverses the position - he's now on top in Masatupo's guard.

Laguna decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Masatupo, up you get!

That was a close round but I would say that Haiki Masatupo will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Laguna throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Masatupo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Laguna throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Masatupo counters with a stiff right hand.
Masatupo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Laguna sees it coming and avoids it easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Laguna darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Laguna throws a body punch but Masatupo moves out of range.
Laguna lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Masatupo circles away quickly and effectively.
Masatupo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Laguna throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Laguna is pawing at Masatupo, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Masatupo's nose. Masatupo is badly hurt! Laguna pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Masatupo tries desperately to hold on but Laguna is relentless in his assault! As Masatupo receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Laguna away and this one is in the books!
