Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Stein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leon Blaze has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jerry Stein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leon Blaze!
The judges for this bout are , and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blaze explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Blaze wants to clinch up but Stein keeps it at a distance.
Blaze throws a head kick that misses.

Stein closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Stein working aggressively here.
Stein wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Blaze has him pressed against the cage.
Stein tries to break free but Blaze pushes him back against the cage.
Stein just leaning against Blaze, taking a breather.
Blaze keeps control of Stein as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Blaze wants to break free but Stein has control.
Blaze working hard to break the clinch.

Stein breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Blaze throws a hook to the side of Stein's head but Stein sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Blaze moves to clinch but Stein breaks away
and Stein counters with a lovely shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blaze throws a head kick but Stein moves out of range.
Blaze tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Stein manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Blaze jabs Stein right on the nose. Stein blinks but takes it well.

Blaze bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Stein's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Stein is looking for a sweep.
Blaze lands an elbow.
Stein really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Blaze tries to stand but Stein controls the position and pulls Blaze into his guard.
Blaze tries to stand but Stein is controlling from the bottom.
Stein will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stein bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blaze's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stein controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Blaze really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stein. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Stein stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blaze swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jerry Stein.
Blaze tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stein swivels and escapes.
Blaze looks winded!

Stein shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Blaze's guard.
Blaze can't keep his opponent in guard - Stein advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stein works his foot free and advances to mount.
Stein punishing his opponent with strikes.
Stein is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Stein tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stein trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stein lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Blaze hang on?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stein content just to control the position here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Stein closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Stein jumps guard but Blaze turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Stein pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Blaze misses with a two punch combination.

Stein gets a clinch.

Stein is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Blaze can't fight it off and eventually Stein manages to take the fight to the floor. Blaze looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Stein won't allow Blaze to get back to his feet.

Blaze looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Stein slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Blaze throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Blaze is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jerry Stein wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Blaze misses with a double jab.
Blaze is breathing heavily.

Blaze tries to keep at a distance but Stein has taken the fight into the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Stein.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blaze tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Stein's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Blaze throws a right and a left that Stein avoids nicely.
Blaze misses with the combination.

Stein looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Stein content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Stein is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Stein tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Blaze.
Stein slows the pace down in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jerry Stein just wasn't active enough.
Blaze throws a nice looking combination but Stein bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Blaze throws a series of punches but Stein moves out of range.
Stein throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Blaze's waist but Blaze gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stein off to one side.
Blaze tries to close the distance and clinch but Stein swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Blaze moves out of range of the leg kick from Stein.
Blaze throws a right and a left that Stein avoids nicely.
Blaze lands with a straight right. Stein didn't see that one coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerry Stein dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Blaze stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Blaze wants it to stay on the feet.

Stein shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Stein stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blaze swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Jerry Stein wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Blaze misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stein with a lazy takedown attempt
and Blaze counters with a nice uppercut.
Blaze takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Blaze rushes Stein and presses him up against the cage.
Stein drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerry Stein. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Blaze manages to break the clinch.

Stein rushes Blaze and presses him up against the cage.
Blaze is pressed up against the cage. Stein has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Blaze down to the mat. Blaze avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Blaze tries to clinch up but Stein circles away and keeps his distance.

Stein fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Blaze to the ground. Stein is now in Blaze's guard.
Stein wants to control from the top but Blaze keeps moving.
Stein is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Blaze is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blaze fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Leon Blaze has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Stein has Blaze pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Stein pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Blaze tumbling to the mat - Stein dives into Blaze's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stein accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jerry Stein is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stein trying to control the position from guard on top but Blaze is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jerry Stein showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stein, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
