Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Don Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Key comes to the cage accompanied by EYELID - REGENERATE. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Don Key!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mateus Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Key stalks Gracie and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gracie's face. Gracie staggers backwards, shaken.
Key throws a leg kick that misses.
Gracie throws a right hand that Key ducks under and follows up with a left that Key also avoids with ease.
Gracie lands with a nice body kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Gracie.
Gracie moves out of range as Key throws a body kick.
Key goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie throws a looping overhand right but Key ducks down to avoid it.
Gracie goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Key blocks the body kick.
Gracie lands a really nice looking cross but Key seems unphased.
Key drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Key digs a good body shot into Gracie's ribs.
Key throws a quick inside leg kick.

Gracie attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Key lands a nice looking body kick.
Gracie fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Key has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Key moves into range and connects with a jab.
Key throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Key throws the kick towards the body but Gracie avoids it.
Key keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gracie.
Gracie jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gracie scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Key moves away.

Key ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Key manages to avoid it.
Gracie misses with a body kick.
Mateus Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gracie throws a good cross that connects.
Gracie lands a nice looking kick to the body. Key takes a step back to recover.
Key connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gracie. Gracie circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Gracie drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Key pulls Gracie in close to his closed guard and prevents Gracie from doing any damage or advancing position.
Key has momentary wrist control but Gracie slips an elbow through the middle.

Gracie slips nicely into half guard.

Gracie is working for a kimura but Key is defending it quite comfortably.
Key regains full guard. Nicely done.
Gracie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gracie working his ground and pound in the gym.
Gracie pushes down on Key's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Key is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Gracie seems to be looking for submissions.

Key has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Key is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.
Key is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mateus Gracie will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Key moves away.
We've been told by Key's head coaches at Broken Halo's -Temple of Illumination that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Key throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Key swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie scoring well with a low kick there.
Gracie misses with a body kick.
Gracie misses the shot to the body.
Key takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Gracie connects with a solid leg kick.
Key fails in his attempt to clinch.
Key throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gracie.

Key keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Key looks for the body kick but Gracie saw that one coming.

Gracie throws a body kick that misses.

A jab from Key finds it's way through Gracie's defenses.

Gracie throws a leg kick which misses Key's front leg but catches the back leg as Key tries to avoid it.
Key throws a lazy right hand but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Gracie sizes up Key with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

so Gracie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Gracie is looking to work some ground and pound but Key has wrist control.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Don Key just wasn't active enough.
Good leg kick by Gracie there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Key avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Don Key is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A solid body kick from Gracie.
Key leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Key uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.
Gracie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Key misses with a straight right.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Gracie, right into the meat.

Gracie takes a swing at Key's ribcage but misses.

Gracie drives through with a takedown into Key's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Key not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Key swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gracie postures up in Key's guard and throws a big left but Key blocks it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Key is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gracie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Key takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Gracie looks to score with a jab to the body but Key is just out of range.

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Key won't be happy with that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mateus Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Key stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gracie.
Key throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Gracie misses with a shot to the body
and Key counters with a good low kick that Gracie was not able to check.
Gracie walks into a straight right hand from Key.
Gracie is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Key rather than just go for the knockout.
Key will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gracie takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Gracie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Key's guard.
Key has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Key working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Key defends it easily.

Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Key defends well.

Key is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gracie has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Key is looking to defend but Gracie has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Key! Gracie pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Key taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mateus Gracie!
An out of breath Mateus Gracie thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Don Key spoke after the fight, saying 'I a knew I shouldn't have let all the ring girls pet the donkey be a for this fight! But they couldn't help them selves, my donkey style got the best of me, and I blew all of donkey steam cumming into,this a fight!'.
