Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spencer Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Torrio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spencer Fisher has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Spencer Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Torrio!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torrio throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Torrio misses with a kick to the body.
Fisher goes for a double leg but Torrio avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Torrio continues to drive forward.

Torrio turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Torrio manages to end up in side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Torrio tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Torrio wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fisher keeps working.
Torrio tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
A lull in the action here as Torrio stalls from top position.

Torrio is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fisher is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Fisher manages to get back to half guard.

Torrio is trying to work for a kimura but Fisher is defending well.
Torrio wants to take a breather but Fisher is having none of it.

Torrio is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fisher is just riding it out for now. Torrio eventually gives up the hold.

Torrio wants to take a breather but Fisher is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Torrio wants to pass to mount but Fisher is defending the position.

Fisher is trying to get back to full guard.
Torrio wants to free his trapped foot but Fisher is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Fisher is looking to control Torrio's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fisher avoid being mounted?

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fisher dives in and grabs Torrio's left leg, looking for a takedown. Torrio pushes down on Fisher's head and hops out.

It looks like Spencer Fisher has been cut.
Torrio moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Torrio throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Torrio decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

It looks like Torrio might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Torrio is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Fisher wants to hold on but Torrio pushes him away.
Fisher is looking to improve his position but Torrio isn't that keen on the idea.

Torrio is looking to take a break and control but Fisher is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Torrio is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Fisher is controlling an arm, preventing Torrio from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Torrio is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fisher defends well.

Torrio is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've been hearing that Fisher has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Fisher stands up over Torrio, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

We're going to have a standup here because Spencer Fisher wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Torrio clinches up with Fisher and pushes him back against the cage.
John Torrio is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Fisher swings wildly with an uppercut but Torrio uses good head movement to avoid it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fisher.
Fisher is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Fisher tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Fisher throws a punch but it's blocked by Torrio.
Torrio stalling in the clinch but Fisher improves position.
Torrio tries to circle away but Fisher has him pinned against the cage.
Torrio gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Fisher.
Fisher is working for takedown but Torrio is calmly controlling the position for now.
Spencer Fisher has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Spencer Fisher. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Torrio manages to break the clinch.
Torrio throws out a powerful jab.

Spencer Fisher is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fisher moves in looking to clinch but Torrio pushes him off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Torrio connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Fisher shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Torrio pinned against the cage. Torrio gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Fisher has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Torrio.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Spencer Fisher.
Well Torrio has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
