PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mickey O Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kegon Ichimaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ichimaru throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
O Doherty fails to land with a series of punches.
O Doherty keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ichimaru.
Ichimaru misses with an uppercut. O Doherty saw that one coming.

Ichimaru staying out of range there.
O Doherty avoids the head kick by Ichimaru.
Ichimaru throws a head kick but O Doherty moves out of range.

O Doherty throws a jab but it's blocked by Ichimaru.

and Ichimaru counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

O Doherty throws a right and a left that Ichimaru avoids nicely.

O Doherty fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ichimaru on the side of the head.

O Doherty throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
O Doherty thows a body shot but no joy.
O Doherty walks forward, straight into a front kick from Ichimaru.
O Doherty looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
O Doherty misses with a hook. Ichimaru ducked under it nicely.
O Doherty takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Ichimaru bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ichimaru plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
O Doherty throws a hook but Ichimaru blocks it.
O Doherty misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
O Doherty is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
O Doherty chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ichimaru can pounce on him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ichimaru feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to O Doherty's calf.
Ichimaru pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ichimaru goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
A clash of legs there as O Doherty blocks the low kick.
Ichimaru tries a head kick but it misses.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! O Doherty crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ichimaru - the referee stops the clock and O Doherty gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ichimaru. O Doherty manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Ichimaru throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Ichimaru. O Doherty shrugs it off though.
O Doherty steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Ichimaru. That one must have hurt.
Ichimaru moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ichimaru takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Ichimaru throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

O Doherty lands with a good body shot.
O Doherty is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Ichimaru's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Ichimaru shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
O Doherty misses with a series of wild punches.
Ichimaru throws a hook to the side of O Doherty's head but O Doherty sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Oh O Doherty is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ichimaru scores with a kick to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters circle, before Ichimaru throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into O Doherty's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Ichimaru lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
