The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Timmons stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Timmons wants it to stay on the feet.
We've been hearing reports that Hamfist has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

so Timmons counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Hamfist pulls Timmons in close to his closed guard and prevents Timmons from doing any damage or advancing position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Timmons connects with a nice short shot to Hamfist's temple.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Timmons is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hamfist sees it coming and defends easily.
Timmons is trying to control the action in half guard but Hamfist is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Timmons seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hamfist does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hamfist is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Timmons jumps into side control!
Hamfist takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Hamfist has his foot on Timmons 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Timmons works his way back into a safe position though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hamfist has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Timmons is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hamfist.

Timmons is looking to take a break and control but Hamfist is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Timmons avoids a punch combination nicely.
Timmons rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hamfist moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Timmons takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Bill Timmons has been cut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hamfist.
Timmons avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Timmons 's corner calls for a 1-2. Timmons obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Mookie Hamfist seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Timmons shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Timmons showed some decent athleticism there.
Hamfist has hold of Timmons 's hands but Timmons slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Timmons cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The referee warns Hamfist that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Oh Hamfist is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big strike lands for Timmons ! That's really hurt Hamfist and he's turned his back - Timmons keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Timmons jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bill Timmons !
An out of breath Bill Timmons thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
