The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fonseca keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Fonseca swings for the body but Sie moves out of range.
Fonseca will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Sie connects with a looping right hand.
A cross from Sie lands.
Fonseca avoids a kick to the body.

and Sie counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sie cracks Fonseca with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Sie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sie goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Fonseca rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sie's guard! Nice work there by Fonseca!

Sie goes for an armbar but Fonseca turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Fonseca.
Sie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fonseca tries to get to full guard but Sie has control of the leg.
Sie looks to land a strike but Fonseca avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Sie content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Fonseca has locked up a guillotine! Fonseca's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Sie is holding on here and Fonseca must be using up a lot of energy. Sie has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Fonseca gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
