Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Donald Robinson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sonny Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donald Robinson!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duncan moves out of range of the strikes.

Robinson drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Robinson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Duncan trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Robinson tries to free his leg and advance position but Duncan is retaining full guard.

Duncan has his foot on Robinson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Robinson works his way back into a safe position though.
Robinson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Robinson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Duncan misses with a takedown attempt
and Robinson counters with a nice leg kick.
Robinson throws a sloppy head kick and Duncan moves out of range easily.
Robinson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Duncan paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Robinson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Robinson is working for a kimura but Duncan is defending it quite comfortably.
Robinson is trying to control. Duncan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Robinson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Duncan is just riding it out for now. Robinson eventually gives up the hold.
Duncan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Robinson is working away from the top position though.

Robinson is trying to work for a kimura but Duncan is defending well.
Robinson drops an elbow to the side of Duncan's head.
It looks like Robinson is going to stand back up.
Robinson wants to pass to mount but Duncan is defending the position.
Robinson missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Robinson stands up out of the half guard.
Robinson tries to close the distance and clinch but Duncan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Robinson counters with a two punch combo.
Robinson throws a right hand that misses
and Duncan counters with a series of strikes. Robinson will be more careful next time no doubt.
Robinson dives in and grabs Duncan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Duncan pushes down on Robinson's head and hops out.

Robinson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Robinson showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Duncan is trying to control but Robinson manages to pass to mount!
Robinson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Duncan wants to hold on but Robinson pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Duncan can't escape the position.
Duncan wants to control but Robinson is having none of it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Robinson trying to control but Duncan is having none of it.
Duncan tries to get back to half guard but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Duncan bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Robinson is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Robinson shoots in for a double leg but Duncan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Duncan misses the shot to the body.

and Robinson counters with a shoot takedown. Duncan fights it but they end up in guard.
Duncan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Robinson wants to control but Duncan is having none of it.
Robinson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Duncan wants to control the pace but Robinson is squirming around nicely.
Robinson looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.
Donald Robinson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Robinson regains half guard.
Duncan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Robinson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Robinson wants to control but Duncan is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Robinson is trying is best to control the position here.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Robinson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Duncan pulls his head out easily.

Robinson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Duncan haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Robinson kicks off Duncan and gets to his feet.
Robinson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Robinson wants it to stay on the feet.
Duncan goes for a double leg but Robinson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Robinson continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sonny Duncan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Robinson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Duncan just stands there and leans against the cage.

Robinson is trying to maintain a safe position but Duncan gets an underhook and turns Robinson into the cage.

Duncan gets control of Robinson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Duncan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Robinson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Duncan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Robinson looking to sit in guard and control but Duncan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Duncan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Robinson is proving hard to escape from.

Robinson is trying to control the position but Duncan postures up.
Duncan preventing the sweep.
Robinson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Duncan manages to get himself to full guard.

Duncan wants to sweep here but Robinson controlling him for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Robinson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Donald Robinson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Duncan lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

and Duncan counters with a head kick. That will keep Robinson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Donald Robinson wasn't active enough on the ground.

Duncan tries to keep at a distance but Robinson has taken the fight into the clinch.

Robinson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Duncan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Duncan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Robinson is one step ahead there.

Robinson wants to control from the top but Duncan keeps moving.
Duncan wants to sweep here but Robinson controlling him for the moment.
Robinson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Donald Robinson.
Duncan leaves Robinson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Duncan gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Robinson wants to take the fight to the mat but Duncan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Duncan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Duncan stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Robinson has eaten all the pies!
Duncan is looking to take this one to the mat.

Duncan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Duncan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Robinson dives in and scores a takedown into Duncan's guard.
Duncan has a closed guard, preventing Robinson from standing up.
Robinson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Donald Robinson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Duncan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Robinson momentarily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Duncan keeps the fight on the outside.
Robinson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Duncan circles away.
Sonny Duncan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Donald Robinson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Sonny Duncan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donald Robinson.
This has been an exciting period of action!
