Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Miles Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Miles Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nate Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coleman scores with a takedown into Paul's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Coleman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Coleman prevents Paul from getting back to his feet.
Coleman looking to pass the guard.
Paul is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Coleman is controlling him.
Coleman trying to control but Paul is working from the bottom.
Coleman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Coleman pushes down on Paul's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coleman is controlling the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coleman wants to take a breather but Paul is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Nate Coleman.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Coleman.
Miles Paul is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A nice combination there by Coleman.
Coleman takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Paul throws a body punch but Coleman moves out of range.
Coleman misses with the combination.
Paul looks to score with a jab to the body but Coleman is just out of range.
Paul just misses with a punch to the body.
Coleman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Paul circles away.

Coleman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Paul circles away quickly and effectively.
Coleman jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Paul feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Colemans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Coleman blocks a jab.
Paul throws a shot from downtown. Coleman moves away and avoids it.
Paul misses with a wild body shot.
Paul throws a body punch but Coleman moves out of range.
Paul throws a hook but Coleman avoids it easily.

Coleman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Coleman lands in his opponent's guard.
Coleman is looking to work some ground and pound but Paul has wrist control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Paul is looking to stand up but Coleman isn't so interested in that idea.
Coleman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Coleman content to stall in guard here.
Paul might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Coleman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Coleman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Paul preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nate Coleman dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Paul ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Coleman moves away.
Coleman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Paul lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Coleman backs up against the cage.

Coleman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Coleman wants to work for an arm triangle but Paul is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Coleman perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Paul wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Coleman content to control rather than advance.
Coleman is keen to just control but Paul is a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Nate Coleman.
Paul throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Paul misses with a body punch

and Coleman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Paul's guard now.

Coleman trying to control the position from guard on top but Paul is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Paul is looking to stand up but Coleman isn't so interested in that idea.
Paul trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Coleman wants to pass the guard but Paul is keeping the position.

Coleman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Paul's head.

Paul is trying to stand back up but Coleman is controlling him

Coleman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Coleman stops Paul from getting back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nate Coleman has got the better of the ground game so far.

Coleman is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Coleman tries to pass the half guard into mount. Paul knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Coleman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nate Coleman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Nice takedown defense from Paul. No joy for Coleman on that attempt.
Coleman feints a jab promting Paul to slip. Coleman then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Paul slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Paul misses with a looping right.
Paul missing with a left hand there. Coleman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Coleman lands a jab-cross combination.

Paul throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Coleman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Paul was covering up waiting for the punch and Coleman finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Paul wants to stand and escape but Coleman is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Coleman slips nicely into half guard.

Coleman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Paul is just riding it out for now. Coleman eventually gives up the hold.

Coleman is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Paul is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nate Coleman!
