Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pancho Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalidov comes to the cage accompanied by Eto Kavkaz. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mamed Khalidov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pancho Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Khalidov or perhaps it was just good defense by Sanchez which made him look bad.

Khalidov gets caught napping as Sanchez dives in and scores a takedown. Khalidov manages to retain guard.
Sanchez trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Khalidov manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Sanchez is trying to control the position but Khalidov postures up.

Khalidov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sanchez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Khalidov has Sanchez in his guard.
Sanchez looking to pass the guard.
Sanchez wants to stand and escape but instead Khalidov has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanchez controls Khalidov momentarily but Khalidov frees himself.
Khalidov would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Khalidov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Khalidov is fighting to break Sanchez's control of his arms but Sanchez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Sanchez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Khalidov wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Khalidov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khalidov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Khalidov wants to get up but he can't break Sanchez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Khalidov controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mamed Khalidov.
Sanchez looks to clinch

and Khalidov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Khalidov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sanchez has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sanchez wants to improve his position but Khalidov is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Khalidov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Khalidov uses his free foot to push down on Sanchez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sanchez.
Sanchez is trying desperately to improve position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Khalidov is working for a guillotine from mount but Sanchez frees his head quite easily.
Sanchez is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Khalidov avoids the attempt from Sanchez to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Khalidov manages to capitalize on a mistake by Sanchez to take his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mamed Khalidov dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Khalidov dives in for a single leg takedown but Sanchez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Khalidov gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Sanchez regains guard.
Sanchez wants to stand up but Khalidov is controlling him.

Sanchez throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Khalidov escapes and throws Sanchez's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Sanchez tries to escape but Khalidov is in control.
Khalidov has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Sanchez tries to hold on but Khalidov pushes him away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanchez gets back to half guard.
Sanchez trying to control from the bottom.
Sanchez is trying to stand.

Khalidov in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Sanchez tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Khalidov!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mamed Khalidov!
