PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Daddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dog Gamma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daddy comes into the arena with For whom the bell tolls blaring out of the sound system. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daddy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Daddy will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Gamma shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gamma was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
You get the feeling that Daddy really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Gamma avoids the attempt from Daddy to control.
Daddy is trying desperately to improve position.

Gamma get's back to his feet.

Gamma bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Gamma avoids the strikes from the bottom by Daddy.
Daddy is looking to reverse the position.
Gamma tries to move into full mount but can't pass Daddy's legs.
You can see the frustration on Daddy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Gamma wants to control but Daddy is keeping him busy.
Daddy sneaks back into half guard.

Gamma stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Gamma avoids a punch combination nicely.
Daddy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Daddy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gamma closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gamma lands in his opponent's guard.

Gamma gets to his feet. Daddy looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Daddy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Gamma counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Daddy's guard now.
Gamma stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Daddy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gamma wants to control from the top but Daddy keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gamma might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Daddy kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Daddy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gamma!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Daddy throws some wild stikes that Gamma manages to avoid easily.
Gamma is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Daddy swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Gamma is now in Daddy's guard. A big mistake from Daddy there, giving up the dominant position!

Gamma is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Daddy is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Daddy has escaped and now he's on top!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Daddy stopping the sweep attempt from Gamma.
Gamma not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Daddy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Gamma pushes Daddy off and gets back to his feet.
Daddy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Daddy tries for a takedown but Gamma circles away easily

and Gamma counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dog Gamma dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Daddy thows a body kick. Gamma tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Daddy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Gamma shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Daddy is positioning himself well to prevent Gamma advancing to mount.
Gamma tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Daddy.
Gamma wants to control but Daddy is keeping him busy.
Daddy manages to get to full guard.

Daddy throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Daddy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gamma stands up and waves to Daddy to follow him.
Big Daddy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Daddy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Daddy pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Daddy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Gamma counters with a takedown into side control.
Gamma cracks Daddy with a big elbow.
Gamma is looking to take a break and control but Daddy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gamma is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Daddy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gamma decides to stand up, so the ref orders Daddy to his feet.
Daddy throws a low kick, looking for Gamma's leg but Gamma calmly moves out of range.
Daddy misses with a wild combination.

Gamma shoots in and bounces Daddy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Daddy has a closed guard, preventing Gamma from standing up.
Daddy wants to sweep here but Gamma controlling him for the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dog Gamma showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Gamma looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Daddy is fending him off so far but Gamma persists. Nope, Daddy circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gamma shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Daddy's guard.
Gamma wants to control from the top but Daddy keeps moving.

Daddy gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Big Daddy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dog Gamma.

and Gamma decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Daddy's guard.
Gamma stays in close to Daddy's body and controls the position.

Gamma gets to his feet - Daddy follows without any prompting.

and Gamma holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Big Daddy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gamma is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Daddy pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Daddy.

Daddy is fighting off a takedown attempt but Gamma is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Daddy to the mat. Daddy regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Gamma has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Daddy is proving hard to escape from.

Gamma stands up from guard. Let's bang!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Daddy lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gamma backs up against the cage.

Daddy gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dog Gamma comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Gamma winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
