Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zhou Tai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ratto Macfedries (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tai decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Tai wants to work for an arm triangle but Macfedries is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tai has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tai lands with a hook. Macfedries tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Tai misses with a takedown attempt - Macfedries sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Macfedries stalks Tai and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tai's face. Tai staggers backwards, shaken.

Macfedries tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tai paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tai will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Tai misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Tai stands and throws Macfedries's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tai decides to stand up, so the ref orders Macfedries to his feet.
Macfedries throws a series of punches but Tai avoids them all with ease.

Macfedries lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

and Tai counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tai working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Macfedries's head.

Tai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Macfedries swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tai drops back looking for a leg! Macfedries is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Macfedries manages to kick Tai off! Tai jumps back into Macfedries's guard.

Tai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Macfedries swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Macfedries can't keep his opponent in guard - Tai advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Macfedries tries to kick Tai off but Tai keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Tai not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Tai is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Tai works his foot free and advances to mount.
Macfedries squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tai has control of Macfedries's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Macfedries regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Tai looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Macfedries is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Tai is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Macfedries is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Macfedries flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Tai anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Macfedries and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Tai slips an arm under Macfedries chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Tai has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Tai is squeezing on Macfedries like an anaconda would it's prey. Macfedries fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
