The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thesz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lineker defends it nicely.

Thesz misses with a takedown attempt - Lineker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Thesz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Thesz throws a hook to the side of Lineker's head but Lineker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Thesz throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lineker on the side of the head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Thesz throws a leg kick but Lineker sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Lineker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Thesz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lineker is fending him off so far but Thesz persists. Nope, Lineker circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Thesz lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lineker will feel that in the morning.

Aloysius Martin Thesz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Thesz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
