The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jay Penn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jay Penn is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. BJ Penn can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jay Penn tries to free his leg and advance position but BJ Penn is retaining full guard.

Jay Penn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jay Penn wants to pass the guard but BJ Penn is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jay Penn will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

BJ Penn throws out a loose jab but Jay Penn uses good head movement to avoid it.

and BJ Penn counters with a straight right hand.
Jay Penn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
BJ Penn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Jay Penn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
BJ Penn wants to get back to his feet.

BJ Penn has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Jay Penn doesn't defend quickly enough and BJ Penn has managed to lock this one up! Can Jay Penn escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to BJ Penn on a fantastic submission victory.
