PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Brandon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and bj Kickass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kenny Brandon has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kenny Brandon seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kickass moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Kickass closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Brandon quickly recovers to half guard.

Kickass throws a big right hand that misses.
Kickass slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kickass stands and throws Brandon's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Kickass wants to control but Brandon is keeping him busy.
Brandon tries to bench press Kickass off him but Kickass keeps the position.
Kickass misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Kickass tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kickass has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kickass swings around for an armbar but Brandon sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kickass's guard.

Brandon tries to free his leg and advance position but Kickass is retaining full guard.
Brandon advances position into side control!
Kickass is not content to let Brandon control the position.
You can see the frustration on Kickass's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kickass manages to work his way to half guard, despite Brandon's best efforts.

Brandon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kickass sees it coming and defends easily.

Brandon stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Brandon takes the fight into the clinch.

Kickass jumps into guard, dragging Brandon to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brandon throws a big elbow that misses.

Brandon gets to his feet - Kickass follows without any prompting.
Kenny Brandon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Our sources have told us that Brandon has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Kickass lands a hook to the side of the head.
Brandon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kickass gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Kickass decides to pull guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kickass has his foot on Brandon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brandon works his way back into a safe position though.

Kickass is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Brandon is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kickass is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kickass has escaped and now he's on top!

Kickass keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Brandon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kickass sprawls well. Kickass wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brandon gets slowly back to his feet.

Kickass shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kickass showed some decent athleticism there.
Kickass is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The referee warns Brandon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kickass wants to control but instead Brandon manages to regain half guard.

Brandon seems to have got his legs back now.

Kickass is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brandon defends it well.
Brandon wants to improve his position but Kickass is controlling well.

Brandon is refusing to be controlled, as Kickass sits in half guard.

bj Kickass showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Brandon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Brandon dives in and grabs Kickass's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kickass pushes down on Brandon's head and hops out.
Brandon tries to clinch up.
Kickass fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brandon avoids it really well and circles away.
Brandon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brandon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kickass defends it nicely.
Brandon keeps the fight on the outside.
Kickass slaps away a takedown attempt from Brandon, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Kickass tries to score a body lock takedown but Brandon shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Kickass pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Brandon wants to clinch.
Kickass goes for a double leg but Brandon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Brandon continues to drive forward.

Kickass jumps guard and drags Brandon to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Brandon drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kickass manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Brandon has Kickass in his guard.

Brandon takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kickass wants to sweep here but Brandon controlling him for the moment.

Well Kickass has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
