PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy DeVito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dux has chosen Bloodsport - Fight to Survive as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy DeVito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Dux!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeVito wants to slow Dux down by chopping away at his legs.
Dux is looking to score with low kicks.
DeVito tried to score with a low kick but Dux checks it.
DeVito misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
DeVito keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dux scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. DeVito doesn't seem bothered though.
We've been told by DeVito's head coaches at Beast II that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
DeVito throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
We've been informed that Dux has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Dux closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. DeVito quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

DeVito lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dux's sensitive parts.

Dux is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so DeVito is just riding it out for now. Dux eventually gives up the hold.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tommy DeVito will probably get the nod.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dux looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? DeVito is fending him off so far but Dux persists. Nope, DeVito circles away and we're back to standing.

Dux's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Dux closes the distance and clinches up with DeVito, looking for a takedown. Dux pushes DeVito against the cage but DeVito circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

DeVito misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
DeVito lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

That kick from DeVito tenderised Dux's leg. Dux is trying to keep his angry face on.
DeVito wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Dux fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches DeVito on the side of the head.
DeVito jabbing away but nothing is landing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
